Related to the question listed below.

I am looking for a list of current manufacturers of long lathes.

I need a Center-to-Center length of 60-75 ft. with a 3-4 ft swing.

Are there any manufacturers of large lathes left in the US?

Thus far, I have identified Skoda (Czech Republic) and Poreba (Poland).

Thanks,

Goosen

Lathes that large would all be custom; not "off the shelf". Try Ingersoll Machine Tool Co., Rockford, IL. This firm has the capability of making almost any large machine tool. ALthough chiefly known for their milling machines, esp. the large gantry variety seen in many aerospace plants lately, I have seen large Ingersoll lathes at a number of locations (Sandusky Int'l comes to mind.) Their products are known for being both extremely accurate and lasting a long, long time.

Thanks, BK.

At my previous employ, we had a number of large Ingersoll mills but I was not aware that they had any experience with large lathes. I will certainly contact them.
