Long Weld Neck Nozzle or RF pads?

For D category weld attachment of nozzles on 24" Seamless pipe (SA106 GrB shell) which is a better alternative..

Well, this should depend on external constraints.
In my opinion an RF pad should be used only when space or functional constraints exist. A pad requires a larger hole in vessel and in case of damage to the sealing gasket is more difficult to repair.

Additionally, it is going to depend on what will be connected to either the Pad or LW Neck.
Connection the the Pad s a studded connection and for the LW Neck a standard bolted connection.
Typically, a studded connection is used where there is minimum clearance on the component being cnnected, meaning that there isn't sufficient room for a full lenght bolt to be installed.

As far as I understand from your question, you have a 24" shell and have nozzless to be welded to this shell. Ýf it is true and you do not have any requirement such as specification, customer requirement, process requirement, etc., using reinforcing pads is cheaper than using LWN flanges in order to reinforce the opening.
