Hello everybody,

I'm looking for some 430FR in strip (0.2mm thick) and in sheets. However, I can find only bars... I've asked a lot of people (ugitech, carpenter etc etc).

So do you know:

if I can find somewhere 430FR in strip or sheets

If not, where I can find a similar grade in strip or sheets?

Thank you for your help, I'm quite ew with magnetic materials but I have a real need for it...

430FR is a free machining alloy intentionally developed for mass production on automatic machines. There are no free machining strips for any alloy. From magnetic point of view 430 is better in its native composition without any additives to improve machining.

In fact I'm looking for a resistive alloy: 430 is less resistiv than the 430FR. That's why we were looking for such alloy. So, I must be able to use AISI 430. thank you for your answer!

Thank you for your help. It seems to be a good solution for me. Do you know something about the magnetic properties of this alloy?

I'm gonna ask the manufacturer, but if you already have any clues...

They are ferritic so they will be somewhat magnetic as they are close to 410 SS analysis with the exception of the Aluminum. I would assume that since they are used as resistors someone has looked into the magnetic properties. Asking Al is your best bet. I've had very good luck getting information from AL in the past.
My first hand knowledge of these alloys is very limited as I just remembered that they existed from being associated with a project that used them several years ago.
