Hi Everyone,

Can anyone please recommend a lisp routine or other program that can make 3D extension springs in either AutoCAD 14 or 2002?

I need something that draws the hook ends on the springs. It does not have to be an extruded solid, It can just be a wire spiral with 3D wire hook ends.

I know there used to be some freeware files out there for this at one time. If you have a small file and don't mind emailing it to me, you can reach me at johnjmechanical @ yahoo.com (delete space before and after @ sign).

Thanks for your help.
John

I found some lisp files here...

The files are 3despr.lsp, 3dcspr.lsp, 3dtspr.lsp and sprcalc.lsp

They let you design extension, torsion, and compression springs. I just wish you could enter a hook to hook length instead of entering the number of coils. You have to guess at the coil number, and hope the length is what you need. It takes a little trial and error.
