I am new to CAM and I am looking at purchasing either BobCAD CAM or Visual Mill or some other lower priced CAM software. SolidCAM and MasterCAM are out of my price range and for the 3D machining that I do I think that a less expensive software will work.

I use SolidWorks and AutoCAD. I have HURCO machining centers.

I would appreciate any recommendations and/or warnings regarding BobCAD CAM and Visual Mill by Mecsoft. From what I have experienced and read so far in my short search, I am leaning towards Visual Mill.

If you know of any other low priced CAM software that works well, that would be great too.

You may want to check out OneCnc. It is a very capable program at a reasonable price. They have several different packages. There are no maintenance or support fees. They have a very good support Forum where experienced programmers will help you out with any problems you might run into. They also have a demo that you can download from their site.
