I am looking for corrosion information for steel and
S compounds (sulfides, sulfates, etc). I need specifically
mechanisms, reactions, chemistry and such.

Espcially as this relates to carbon steel.

Thank you very much for any help and direction,
There are very many mechanisms associated, too many to list here and very dependant on process chemistries, temperatures, etc.

A very good source of information is "the encyclopedia of corrosion technology - P. Schweitzer" Marcel Dekker - publisher.

Also checkout the N.A.C.E. International website (National Association of Corrosion Engineers) think) or search on NACE.

If you have specific process conditions, it would be easier to identify damage mechanisms.
