I have been operating under the assumption that MaxPrnStress and MinPrnStress in the post processor are using the fairly standard Mohr's circle calculations, but I am having trouble finding Siemens documentation that shows what they are.

I am doing analysis for a lawsuit, so I really need to make sure all of the documentation is complete.

I have the user guides, quick reference, etc. here, but I can't locate the info I'm looking for. (I've also looked at the pdfs that I could find online.)

i would assume there are standard technical terms (as you say, Mohr's circle). If you wanted to verify, build a simple test model and hand calc. Maybe you want the "operator's guide" ... max principal calc'd using these vectors, this calc ... maybe call the help desk ?

another day in paradise, or is paradise one day closer ?

Hi

Since you post in the FEmap forum I assume that you look for the info in Femaps documentation.

My guess is that Femap simply reports the numbers provided by the solver. So perhaps the solvers documentation is a better source for information. I looked in NEiNastrans documentation and thers were some information. I don't know if it is adequate for your needs or if you use NEiNastran but I assume that the other vendors provide similair data.

Best Regards

Thomas
