Hello,
I am doing some research on solar cells and how they are manufactured and implemented. Specifically I am trying to find documentation on what is used for a substrate, how the individual PV cells are connected to one another, and how entire panels are connected to one another. Also, what standards are used for protection? I haven't found any IEEE papers on any of this. Any suggestions?
thanks

It could probably help if you could specify which technology you are interested in? Chrystaline silicon, Amorphous silicon thin films, polycrystalline silicon, Cadmium Telluride (CdTe), Copper Indium Selenide (CuInSe), dye-sensitized, polymer and organic based PV cells, Indium Gallium Nitride (InGaN), concentrated PV, tripple junction GaAs and probably more exist today. I'm sure they must be an equal number of manufacturing techniques.

list of standards,

Are you serious? There were over 500 hits in the IEEE Xplore search results for "solar AND cell" including a bunch of conference proceedings.
