Good Morning,
We are in search of a stainless steel shoulder bolt with a 1/4-20 thread and a phillips drive, must be non magnetic, sugessted 305 , how close to non magnetic will 304 or 316 be after cold forming?
This will not be an off the shelf item.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Regards

I presume that you are looking for cold formed strengths. This might be very hard to find.
There are other non-magnetic alloys that are used for bolts. Monel K-500 comes to mind. It will be more expensive, but you may not need to buy 100,000 pcs at a time to get it.

Corrosion never sleeps, but it can be managed.

thanks for the response Edstainless,
Actually it is a gov. requirement, form fit function and more for the non magnetic qualities, the bolt mates with an aluminum component so strength is not the issue at this point, it is providing data as to the nonmagnetic quality, there is not a serious load problem with the application.
Thanks
