Hi all,

Anyone know where we can get strainers rated to NSF-61 (not just NSF-61-G or 372)? Our procurement dep't is having a problem locating one. Sizes are 1/2" - 2".

Thanks

You might have more luck posting this question in the "Pipelines, Piping and Fluid Mechanics engineering" forum - I would consider a strainer to be a piping component and not a valve.

NSF 61-G is equivalent to NSF 61 (i.e. the G adds supplemental requirements that the materials of construction be in total less than .25% lead content). So, an NSF 61G strainer meets NSF 61 as well.

You can look on the NSF website to find compliant listings of parts.

McMaster has strainers up through 1" size that are listed as NSF 61G (I'd want to see the cert to be sure). I'd also contact the Watts Regulator company to see what they have.
