I want to crimp TE Connectivity # 213843-3 crimp terminals on a realistic budget. Can someone recommend a low cost compatible hand-operated crimp tool?

The overpriced TE Connectivity Tools are:
AMP 356611-1 POWERBAND DIE ASSY 8 AWG, $3187.80
AMP 69710-1 TOOL HAND CRIMPER SIDE ENTRY, $768.86

These things rarely wear out. Have you checked ebay? I recently got a truckload of pneumatic amp crimping tools and only paid about $300 total.

For anyone with a similar question:
I have not tried this yet; but, these look like a possible solution for under $75.00 total.

QCD6F - Crimping Die - Open Barrel Terminals - 22, 14, 8-8AWG
QC1A - Snap-n-Crimp Tool - 22-12AWG Wire Ferrules

I will soon try this tool.

I use ferrules similar to these all the time and they are great. They won't help the OP though.

You can find the tool all over Ebay for $100 or less. The die might be harder to find. 8 AWG pins and sockets are much larger than anything I usually work with.
