Hi Guys,
I have a low tech question. I need to install some panic buttons in remote toll booths to tide me over a few months until a real security system can be installed.
I have had the phone group install a phone jack and a house phone extension in each toll booth. Each phone line is programmed to call the security emergency number when it goes off hook.
The security console operator will see the location on the caller ID and dispatch a security guard.
My Question:
Can I just use a maintained button (push in opens circuit / pull back closes circuit) to simulate an “off hook” condition, or do I need to purchase and install a telephone?
If I can use a switch what type of circuit resistance do I need to simulate an “off hook” and an “on hook” condition.
Thanks,
Andy
