Hello,
With regards to an LRB bursting disc and RBH holder. Can anyone please advise on the purpose of the side strap of the disc?

Thanks

What do you mean by LRB and RBH ? Is it a manufacturers designation/type?

Picture please of the 'side strap'.

It might be there to ensure the correct holders are used together and/or indicate direction of flow.

Per ISO-4126, only the term Safety Valve is used regardless of application or design.

Thank you for the reply. This nomenclature is for Marston discs. I will try and get a drawing to post.

Thanks

Think you'll find it is a Reverse Buckling Disc. Io ensure it is assemble correctly, the disc is held between the holders by the 'Side Strap' which should indicate the direction of flow. This is so done as to ensure proper installation in the direction of flow. See attached. Most discs now being self rupturing are installed the over way.

Per ISO-4126, only the term Safety Valve is used regardless of application or design.

Thank you for the replies,
Here is a drawing showing the side strap and assembly screws. I believe this is the same as the generic drawing Obturator provided in that the side strap is to hold the disc between the holders and that this strap and screws are not wetted parts correct?

Thank you again

Definitely not a wetted part. Note also that the downstream/outlet half of the holder is also not wetted until the disc is ruptured.

Per ISO-4126, only the term Safety Valve is used regardless of application or design.

Thank you for this. So the side strap is there to hold the disc in place inside the holder.

Thanks again
