< 1 GHz Spectrum Analyzer

I'm working on a preamp for a low frequency signal; the bandwidth is less than 300 KHz. I'm looking for a spectrum analyzer that works well in this range; about 1 Hz to 1 MHz would be ideal. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good analyzer for this application?

I'm looking for better than -90 dBm sensitivity; the digital scopes with FFT drop out at -60 dBV (about -47 dBm, so not even close).

Along the same line, does anyone have any suggestions for low frequency FET probes? I'll need to monitor the signal without loading it. I can use my old P6201, but then I'll have to drag the 7834 along to power it up!

I have been using Pico Technology's USB scopes for FFT. They have 12 bit units that go to 100 MHz and 16 bit units that go to 166 kHz. Read review at:

Got to be careful with the input spec, though. I forgot to discharge a capacitor (no more than 10 nF at about 50 V) and blew one channel. So the 20 V maximum specification is no joke.

Otherwise, as much bang as one can expect for a few hundred dollars.
