Dear Colleagues,

Does anybody knows if the rated shortcircuit value of the LV fuses is related to:
Symmetrical, peak or what current?

We are trying to understand it because the manufacturer manual says shortcircuit based on IEC 60947-2 (and we have only fuses gG, not fused circuit breakers)however, the protocol of the fuses says based on 60269-1.
And in any case the manufacturer catalogue says "Switching shortcircuit" and gives only one value
but, we do not know if this one correspond to a "initial current" or a "peak current".

I will thank Any comment or suggestion.

IEC 60947 relates to circuit breakers, switches, and other electromechanical devices. IEC 60269 relates to LV fuselinks.

The breaking capacity is stated in symmetrical RMS amps and is quoted at at a defined power factor or, for DC applications, a defined circuit time constant. The power factor or time constant changes depending upon breaking capacity and as the breaking capacity increases the breaking conditions get more severe.
