Have a LVL for a stair stringer, sloped obviously. 2 ply, so 3.5" wide. What Simpson hanger do you suggest, I was looking at the HUCQ, but they dont make that in a sloped configuration.
Any other suggestions, or suggestions to connect to the perimeter beam?
Thanks

I thought notching a LVL was a big no no! Good suggestion, will look into it.

Reaction is about 1500 lbs.

Looks like a LSSR410Z would do it.

Thanks

JStructsteel,

Assuming that the beam is at the lower end of the stringer, I've used both sloped seat connectors like the LSSR as well as flat seat ones with the bottom of the stringer cut flat to match the width of the seat. As long as you don't overcut, I wouldn't really consider this a notch, since the "notched" portion of the member is fully supported.

FWIW, my preferred detail for a stringer to beam connection at the lower end is to rest the stringer directly top of the beam. Of course, this isn't always possible.
