Does anyone know of any high capacity anchors for a LVL transfer beam? The transfer beam is 7"x20" LVL and is framing into another 7"x20" LVL Header Beam. My D+L reaction is around 25 kips. Simpson high capacity anchors for LVL beams max out around 11 kips. Is there any others available? Thanks!

25 Kips! Thanks God it is not a multi-ply LVL for you would have trouble connecting the plies for that concentrated load. Simpson and USP both can make specialty hangers. I would imagine it to be some type on top mounted saddle.

Make sure your compression edge is braced adequately. There is a lot of torsion on that beam as well.

Good luck.

Design your own with 3x3 angles and a plate across the bottom, thats what I have done in the past.

Kudos csd72! I've done the same and it works pretty well. Simpson could probably make you a connector for 25K, but why when you can design your own! Where did you find 7" wide LVL? The largest I'm aware of is 3 1/2" and is difficult to find.

maybe they are black market lvls made by glueing two 3 1/2 pieces together.
