Hi,

We are shipping machinery that must go as open deck (too high for a container). In the main the machinery has a good paint job, and stainless fasteners used where possible.

But there are exposed galv bolts and hydraulic fittings (standard nickel coated).

Can anyone recomend a good product that can be easily applied (spray) that can be washed off with a solvent or something once the machinery is in position?

We use Nylack spray. It is clear and offers good protection from salt water.

If at all possible specify that you want the machinery shipped below deck. I once had to work with 4 packaged compressor units two of which were shipped on top. Had to replace all the switch contacts on instrumentation for the units shipped on top. The below deck units were OK.
