I'm looking to set up an automated machining cell which will do the following;
-Cut Pipe, Diams 3/8"-8"
-Chamfer inside and outside both ends
-Thread inside
-Stamp part
Does anyone know of a machine manufacturer capable of making such a unit?

If you are looking for long term production I would consider building it in house. In the past I have built some custom machines like this for a fraction of the cost. You can pick up most of the components of the design at auctions for a low price and then you have the ability to modify the machine if the job calls for it in the future.

Fill what's empty. Empty what's full. And scratch where it itches.

Kenbolen,
Thanks for your response.
I've gone and checked out ATS Automation and have been on their site before. Great lead, not exactly sure they've got what we need and at the cost we need it. We're producing fairly low spec product and a whole lot of it.

Aamoroso,
Thanks for the invite. This is exactly what I've been working on. Finding different machinery and setting it up in a cell with simple sensors and plc's.
I really like the end quote, great advice.

I used to work in the drill rod business many years ago. We used CNC lathes for what you are looking to do. Visit one of these companies and see how they do it. It's really a very simple operation.

cfkrl,
We also use lathes and yes, for our larger sizes, the cycle times make sense, however, our screw machines will out perform the CNC for smaller parts.
I'm wieghing many options at the moment, CNC with a bar feeder is one of them.
Thanks for the input.
