It's been a while since I posted the question on machining Garolite G 10, and tips were helpful. Now we've graduated to G-11. Presently researching diamond tooling? It will be 12 in. dia. , 1 " thick on lathe. Must take most of the material out inside, about .960 deep, leaving about .035 thick bottom with .5oo outside wall. Will probably loc-tite to aluminum plate to keep bottom solid. Any ideas?

Loctite melts around 450F.
You might like a regular hot-melt stick adhesive better.
Or check with Reid's. I think there are some releasable adhesive films made just for faceplate machining.

If you have a large number to make, then you should consider compression molding from bulk or sheet molding compound. There will be far less material waste and the part will be much stronger. Your part will be very prone to delaminate where the thin sheet joins the ring.

To do the machining the best approach would be a tool-post grinder with lots of coolant. A milling machine with a rotary table could also be used.
