macro doesn't like layers with spaces in the name??

ok here is the macro i have
^C^C^P_AI_molc;^P\-layer;lo;*;u;$m=$(getvar,clayer);^M
which what it's supposed to do is set a specified layer current then lock all layers and then unlock current layer but if the layer that it sets current has a space in the name then it stops at the point that it asks for the current layer name anyone have any ideas if everyone helps everybody the world will be a better place
