Geetings to all.

A question was posed today that it would be nice to have a centerline symbol placed in the middle of our centerlines yet would be allowed to slide along the centerline if needed. Is there a macro or option that allows this. I have tried to add horizontal relations to the text and the line. SW does not accept my slelctions. Any clues or advice????

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Scott,
Yes, you are correct, that is not the problem. I am trying to add a relation between the actual centerline on the drawing and the text with the centerline symbol.

OIC...no it is not possible, those are invalid combinations for adding relationships.

It's all in the eyeball [cyclops] when it comes to text in a drawing...not always but in this case it is.

If you are having problems keeping a Note near a line...

(as if SolidWorks would do anything like move a note by itself for no reason ;-))

Try turning on the leader for the Note/Geo Tol/Surf Fin/Or any other annotation...

Attach the leader to a line...

Position the note where you want it to stay... (it helps to zoom in as far as you can, within reason, to get the right position)

Then Hide the leader...

This usually keeps the annotation from moving on it's own...

*Note: this is also the BEST way to move a note from one view to another...

Good Luck,

Well you can attach a note to a view too. That keeps the note from moving around without the view.

Activate the view and insert the text with that view activate and now the text is attached to that view.

I hope that helps,
