What grade of MgO powder is used in electrical hearers like calrod or cartridge heaters and does anybody know a supplier who could sell a few Kg.
I am looking for a bulk powder which would have good thermal conductivity at temperatures 500-800C. Must be granular to fill up cavity in test appartus and stable in air.
I am sure liquid metal or molten salt would be better, however I wish to avoid liquids for the moment.
Would powdered metal like iron filings be suitable or would there be a risk of rapid oxidation at elevated temperatures?
Many thanks
