Hi,

I am currently working on a transient solution in ansys. The result that I want to view is the magnetic flux density of a wire. Fot this reason I modeled a wire and an air. For both cases I use PLANE13. The aplied load has been a inpressed current (20000 Amp) in all the nodes of the wire.

Viewing the result, the maximun magnetic flux density is in the corner of the wire and it has got a value of 3144 Tesla.

But according to the equation B=(u0•I)/(2•pi•R), the theoretical result is more o less 1.5 Tesla. Why is the reason for this difference in the results?

Regards,
Jerrylucas
