MAIN & AUX Diesel Engine Exhuast Piping Corrosion/Fouling

Hi,

Any one experienced exhaust piping corrosion? what is the material? anyone tired special materials? I am interested in gathering as much information as possible for both cold and hot corrosion. Pictures are welcome too. How about fouling /soot deposits or even soot fires?

I am writing a report and can share the final version with those who wish to participate. the aim is to review fouling on all components, including piping, Exhaust boiler, silencer etc. Priamrily I am interested in large engines both medium and slow speed firing Heavy fuel oils.
