making a fixture

hello guys
ive just recently started using pro e wild fire 5 using it for cnc machining. i get models imported to me which i have to machine and sometimes i have to make a fixture with the shape of the model machined out of a block of ally, any ideas how you do this

What format are your models coming in as: STEP, IGES, etc?

If you need to machins like a cavity of your part, build an assembly of the base bloack and the imported part. Make sure you have closed any holes in the imported part. Position the imported part in the bloack as deep as you need it, then subtract the imported part from the blank. You now have a cavity of your shape.

thanks for your help i will try this out next time i have to make a fixture. usally my models are in pro e format,
how do u get on with pro e?
