Making the part disappear

hi there
I am trying to remove a part during a step and i am doing this by using
*Model Change, Type = Element, remove

The model does works but in Visualization i can not see the part removed physically. It is still showed in the CAE Visualization mode.

Is it possible to make the part disappear in a particular step?

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Have you tried Display Group ?

As far as i think display group allows you to make part disappear manually in postprocessing. What I am trying is to make the part disappear automatically. Take in this way as if I am in Viuslization mode, have two parts and two steps, while going through the frames as soon as the first step finishes and step2 starts, one part should disappear automatically where as the other should stay there.

According to User's manual:

"...Inactive elements and contact surfaces are visible in Abaqus/CAE."

Maybe you should check the Abaqus Support web-site, they might have some plug-ins for this type of visualization.

In the worst case, you can write a script to print a set of of .png files for many frames (with the inactive elements removed for the desired frames) and then join them into an animated .gif.
