I work with screwed fittings that are phosphated to ease assembly and limit torque. The normal configuration is for one component to be manganese phosphated and the other is either untreated or zinc phosphated. That works very well. I have recently had problems assembling the fittings when both parts have been manganese phosphated. I am told that this is not a preferred combination. Does anyone else have the same experience and can they explain it?
