Good day...Im trying to find out the standard distance of manholes(i mean electrical,communication,sanitary/sewer) from the edge of the roadway. I'm kind of new to this work and trying to get important information concerning this. Existing distances I see around is 4 feet but I want to make sure that I got the correct clearance based on IEEE or NEC if there is any. Thanks in advance.

That is not how manholes are placed or located. There is no such thing as a "standard" distance. Where are your storm drains? Sewer, water, gas, street lighting,...... ad infinitum. This "question" belongs in a Civil Engineering forum.

EEJAIME,
actually im just trying to find out if there is a standard clearance that needs to be followed.for now we are installing electrical manholes -at least 100- mostly located along roadways.I dont want to find out in the end that I violated certain codes or standards after we set them. Thanks anyway.this site is very helpful for us newbies.

If your working with utilities ( phone and electrical) they usually have standards. Gas utilites have the same.
For water distribution and sewer lines the agencies that handle that will also have standards.
The state or local agencies that govern roads may also have standards.
If your in a city the city engineer should have standards.
You didn't say exactly what your doing but if it's a subdivision in the US people like PG&E, Southern Cal Edison etc. etc. have volumes of standards. Getting some of them will be dificult, others are on the internet.

Heres Colorado Springs.

Bulletin 1728F-806
on this site has something on underground electrical distribution.

You can also try manual TM 5-811-1
on this page
The NEC has nothing to say about manhole location. The NESC addresses safety issues.

There are no easy answers, I can't say anything like 10' 15' and 8'. It takes a little research.
