The radiographic Evaluation By Manufacturer (T-285) and the Radiogrhap Review Form (T-292) described in section V of ASME B&PV code, refers to a "Manufacturer’s representative
who performed the final acceptance of the radiographs".

What are the skills, experience and certifications that this manufacturer's representative must have to perform that job? (according to the code).

I'm asking that because I need to check If the forms that the received from a contractor, were well performed and signed by a qualified person according to code.

GENERALLY

films are review by the xray co's level 2

and you should have his personell's certs sheet along with their RT procedures (at least if you asked for approval privilages in PO)

the manufacture's reviewer (if alrealdy review by level 2) does not need any certs as long as he is experienced in rt interpretation.

and of course the AI will review all film

in short....somebody's level 2 should review the film and sign off on reader sheet

Thanks for the quick response.

That is what we have been doing so far, but, is there any part of the code secifying this requirements? or it is an standard practice?

I dind't mention that our company is located in Colombia, South America, where the ASME code is not mandatory (but we specify it in our order requirements) and we have many NDE "inspectors" here but we need to know if they are qualified according to the code.

In the absence of an AI inspection, the only way that you will tell whether the manufacturer's NDT was 'well performed' would be by witnessing it yourself or performing your own cross check. Requirements for personnel qualification, where specified as necessary, are addressed in ASME V, Article 1.

Javier, if the Code is followed, the Mfr will have a procedure in place, the Construction Code wheather is Sect VIII-1 for PV or Sect I for Boilers ASME Code mandates the NDT where needed per Sec V of the Code.
in your case Sect IX for welding qualification.
For RT the Mfr should have a Level III to supervise all NDT's All NDT personnel to be qualified per Am. Society for NDT ASNT.
A Mfr rep. can be the quality control Mgr, or any one in charge of QA,
the person's shall be qualified and have the Engineeringexperience to review and accept the results of the tests.he or she is the one who signify the
documentation.
