How is the MAOP calculated on an old NG pipeline? What is the formula? Is the Barlow and hoop stress formula in the equasion? Thanks, Olefazz

It really depends on where you are (what country, are you inside of plants or outside, are you going through a city or out in the country, is the old pipe seamless or something with a weld seam, etc). The answers all play into the MAOP or MAWP calculations.

Barlow's formula is often part of the calculation, but usually it isn't the first step.
