This is more of a request to PTC than a question but perhaps there is someone here that can be an influence to getting this done.
I think it would be a good idea to make modifying a mapkey simular to running model player. By this I mean that if you could select modify in the mapkeys menu then a box simular to model player would popup and you could select the play button and it would do the first line in the mapkey then if you push play again it would run the second line so on so forth. Then in the middle if you wished you could select an insert button and then record the mapkey line you desire example: "Insert/Datum coordinate system.../default/done" then you could finsh the play and then save the mapkey with the new line added...
Thank you....

There are ways of doing what you want to. If you are on a unix workstation you can use tail -f trail.txt.curnum which will outut the commands written to trail file and you can copy them and manually insert the lines into your Mapkey in your config.pro file. Or on NT you can read the trail into a text editor and copy the command lines from the trail into your Mapkey.

What you're specifying would be a useful feature though because I've rerecorded some of my Mapkeys with the main Modify option.

You can also make a document containing the commands you wish to insert when modifying trail file.

#INSERT;#DATUM;#CSYS;#DEFAULT;rest of mapkey;

I have been modifying existing mapkeys by means of opening them with a word document program such as Word or Wordpad and adding the command line required. I normally will create a temp mapkey and create the action I want to add to a large mapkey. Then I open the Config file and copy and paste the temp mapkey created command line into the desired mapkey command. This works but it consumes alot of time and it get's kind of tricky remembering where to add the command line...
