Folks-
I've been having problems with mapkeys. I find that when I go to delete a mapkey it doesn't delete it from my config.pro. Has anyone else had troubles with mapkeys in WF 2.0?

Just edit your config.pro in a text editor. (Never had that particular problem though)

No problems here with Pro/E 2001

I think deleting the mapkey from the dialog box only deletes the mapkey from your current session.

Do as dgallup suggests, use notepad or the config options editor to delete your mapkey, then save over your config.pro file.

I've seen some config files get huge and have multiple entries for identical mapkeys. so deleting one may not delete them all from memory. I've found that it's easy to do a save all when in the Mapkey dialog like in 2001 and have a file called all_mapkeys_### that you can increase the ### number for and just load in the mapkey file into your Pro/E session and apply them. This avoids the possibility of having the mapkeys added to your config.pro file more than once if you don't have protection on your config files like in shared labs or at schools.

This way people can also create their own mapkey files that are easy to maintain.

notepad is a great editor and you can easily use my save all mapkey method with the notepad editor.

It sounds like the user has to remember to load the file in with every session. Is there a way to invoke ADDITIONAL config files automatically using a setting in config.sup or config.pro? BTW, I learned (much to my dismay) that mapkey definitions in config.sup DON'T WORK.

For what little it might be worth...

Believe there are three places that config.pro files can be placed that will be read automatically; load point, log on directory and start up directory.

......

I keep mapkeys in my standard config.pro (in log on directory). I don't let Pro/E add them, but save to a new file, inspect, edit (there's sometimes a lot of stuff that can be deleted and just get to the chase) then cut and paste into config.pro.

.....

I think Help warns about putting mapkeys in config.sup?

From firsthand experience, mapkeys don't work AT ALL in the config.sup.
