For 'pavement' (Electrical) on his msg. Sept. 10, 2003

Marine Electrical Systems:

Medium Voltage 13.8 kV: No help from the WEB.
First of all, I haven't seen whether you posted this query as well in the more appropriate group Electrical / Electronic Engineers.
On Sept. 19th. from among others "Alfminator" and (21st.) "Modula2" and others; they replied also to a 13.8kV Generator / System Grounding subject.
Nowadays one can seldom say that the WEB does not contain any help.
Try among others:
Definitely one link may help you further:
One IEEE member to send an E-mail to, might help: daveges01@aol.com
Marine Engineering: Mr. David Moore in Canada.
Yet another specialist: They have a nice .ppt site for the 'protection'-part of your query:
with a few slides.
(Please note that if you make a direct link to this .ppt file, you will be asked to log in with an ID; just cancel twice and wait for the actual .ppt downloading).
Since you mentioned the MARINE, please scroll down till "Electric Ships" in:
Lessons learned (power failure) (US Merchant Marine Academy)
And if this isn't enough:
as a last link, since I don't like .pdf so much because of the "One Time Only" attitude of my PC.
A second .pdf will stall after downloading (all the wait included) (Acrobat Reader ver. 6)

Kind regards;

Have you consulted the following texts that cover the subject:
"Marine Engineering" published by the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineering

"Modern Marine Engineers Manual" published by Cornell Maritime Press
