I hope this is the right forum to post this. I am trying to find projects for a small MEP engineering firm. So far I have found out that the most effective way is to schmooze up to architects since owner prefer dealing with one firm (mainly an architectural firm.) Obviously, finding the architectural firm that would give newcomers a chance is not easy. Other thing I have found out is that architects charge the owner a nice fee but pay only a small fraction of it to the engineering firms in their team. Any thoughts on this subject would truly be appreciated.

Are you a marketing consultant or manager?

What's the ideal project for your MEP firm, who would need that and how do they generally go about finding that particular service.

Do they only us architectural firms for referrals?

Also;
Do you have any past good relationships with either clients or architects? These are good places to go.
What do you see motivating these architects? Schedule, price, or technical content? Concentrate on delivering those.

You may want to contact the SBA to see if you are 8a, HUB-zone or other set aside category eligible.
