In our specification to the tank supplier we specified "No marking shall be on the process side of material" as the tank is in Sour Service. However we have internals that will have to be identifiable in contact with the liquid with no unexposed sections that can be stamped.

Is low stress stamping acceptable, or is this a no go? What other marking methods are options in this environment?

Why do they need to be marked?
What is the material?
If absolutely needed I would look at acid etching.

CobusvanJ, it is apparently YOUR specification. Can you discover what the requirement is intended to address?

If the 'internals' are not containing pressure, what is the issue? If there is an issue, what about vibroetching?

I check our H2S service spec for pressure vessels, we do not have that requirement.
However, I check one of the big US oil company spec, quote " No punch marks on work lines shall be done on the internal process shell face" unquote.
Most of the specs are talking about pressure parts, hardly talking about what to do with non-pressure parts.
You shall talk to the person who created that spec, he/she shall be able to tell you the story and advise you the best alternatives.
