Marking size and place on Fittings

Materials

I already have had a looking through ASME B16.5, MSS-SP 25..., and I could not find information regarding to right place to mark fittings (more exactly caps), and what the letter size should be. Also, I would like to know if bevel caps must be painting protected.
Should I received caps with out any kind of protection?.
