Hi,

Does anyone have any practical experience with testing equipment using a Marx Generator. Given that one of the poles is earthed does this mean that the terminals need to be swapped over several times in order to ensure that all phases get tested to their full impulse voltage?

Cerkit dear, you will need a high voltage probe with specifications that your pulse out rise time and duration are not affected by the probe specifications. Then a oscilloscope should be sufficient to do the measurement provided its bandwidth serves pulse parameters.
