Does anyone have a good resource that outlines the issues around repairing masonry?

In my case I'm looking at a building with 2' thick brick walls AND a brick veneer that has deteriorated significantly in places, crumbling mortar, bowing at times. Issues I'm looking to research include sensitivity to vibration/construction activities, testing of in-situ materials that might be good to do at this point, specs/procedures for replacing damaged bricks aside from repointing, etc.

Thanks!
