Mass Properties Error - Inventor 10

I seem to be having a problem with Inventor 10's Mass Property feature. The feature works correctly at the piece part and assembly level just fine. The problem is evident however after "in process machining" is done to an existing assembly. After performing any machining operations on an assembly, the mass properties of the assembly indicates the correct Volume and Density, but the Mass appears to be the value of the removed (machined) part of the assembly.

Please help.
