Hello,

i know this is a bit of a long shot but i will ask anyway.

i am currently trying to match FEA results from ANSYS with FEA results from ABAQUS in CATIA V5.
I need to understand how to replicate the restraints of ANSYS with ABAQUS. Specifically, i need to replicate the ANSYS constraint "compression only support" in ABAQUS in CATIA.
I have tried to use just the clamp on a split surface of a part and calculated to give similar results (i.e stress pattern etc) to ANSYS but CATIA outputs larger numbers.

if anyone could help me with this i would be very grateful. even if it is to state that the FEA systems are too different to match results

cheers

What is the compression only support meant to model? Can you more explicitly model the geometry? It sounds like you could use contact with the appropriate geometry.
