Hey,

Im trying to find a way to extract a material and/or a finish spec to an attribute.

What i mean is, after i assign a material/finish from the smart models - product definition tool, i want to find a way to get that information to an attribute.

I want to do this so when you extract the attributes to a spreadsheet, the material/finish information shows up.

I understand i can add the attribute manually but thats not an option, i am going to integrate this into a program which already extracts a BOM to exel, but needs a way to find the finish/material info

Thanks a lot for any help in advance,
Andrew J

Starting with NX 4.0.2.x (due out before the end of June), when creating a Material Properties assignment (under Tools/Material Properties...) the appropriate Part and Object Attributes will be automatically assigned to the part file and model. Note that for files where the material has been assigned prior to this release, you will need to reassign the material in order for these attributes to be present.

You will have complete control, under Customer Defaults, whether to assign just a Part or an Object Attribute, or both, as well as the title of the attributes. Out-of-the-box, this default will be "ON" for both Part and Object Attributes with both using an Attribute title of "MATERIAL".
