I have to use the SA36 structural steel for the construction structures which will be exposed at Sub-zero temp. say -20deg C, As per code ASME sec II, Part-A, it says the SA36 can be used, but it didnt specify the impact toughness of the material and also temp it can bear.
simillarly the ASW has not specified the use of SA36 material. I want the experts suggestion on this whether to use above and should we specify the requirement of it?

Refere to materials handbook,ASM.
ASTM A-36 "Charpy" impact study for low-temp. service.
AWS D1.5 Bridge Code, under fracture critical service.
Maybe, first specify the application, then match the
material best suited for service.
