Where can I find an all inclusive material equivalency chart. I keep getting material specs from other countries and I can't find their equivalence for the life of me.

Example material proposed spec change
F212 EN1A (old british standard)
9SMnPb28K EN1A
I belive the equivalence of 9SMnPb28K.

please help!!

The most complete handbook references are the following:

Worldwide Guide to Equivalent Irons and Steels, 4th Edition

Stahlschlüssel (Key to Steel), 19th Edition

ASM also offers an electronic subscription to the their Alloy Center Online which has extensive cross-references. Use the following link for more information:

Unfortunately, I am not familiar with F212 or EN1A. 9SMnPb28K is an obsolete specification for a cold drawn free-cutting steel bar now known as 11SMnPb30 according to EN 10087. In North America this grade is called SAE 12L14.

Another reference, at least for steels, is ASTM's Handbook of Comparative World Steel Standards:Third Edition edited by J.E.Bringas. It's available in paper or CD format. See
