Material handling, IBC

We are planning to build new chemical synthesis plant (active pharmaceutical ingredience production. For material handling we plan to have containers (IBC) and discharge stations. We have not decide yet to select valve type (it could be butterfly, split butterfly, or cone valve - we have to make tests). Anyway I prefer cone valve from discharge point of view.
Can someone give me some experience about the task?

your product are powders I assume ?

I worked for a company making tungsten carbide. We used IBC's with butterfly valves. If the powder was was at all sticky as many are, the valve only compounded the problem. The valves were also extremely difficult to open and close manually.

Also because the butterfly valves were difficult to open and close it made dumping part IBC's to a specific weight near impossible and a bit more than messsy.
