I have a bar made up of 35MF 6 and to be coated with Cr MAT 5/10um, the material standard that is used is the NF A 35-562. Please what is the material make up and the equivalence in ISO standards. Would also like to find out what would be the hardness , and if possible the coating thickness. Thanks

The ISO designation for this grade is 35SMn20 according to ISO 683-9. It is called 36SMn14 (1.0764) in BS EN 10277-3. This appears to be the designation for a Cr-plated shaft, which means that the steel is likely cold drawn, induction hardened, ground and then Cr-plated. The coating thickness is 5-10 ?m.
