Hello,

I've just defined a CSYS type=Cylindrical, to apply a cylindrical spring properties to it.
I'm receiving the error message :"a material point in element xx lies on the polar axis. The orientation cannot be defined.Use the option orientation,System=rectangular or move the polar axis away from the material point".

The nodes of this spring point directly to the center of this cylindrical coord, and I don't seem to understand the problem with orientation definition. For other spring in different locations, there is no problem.

Also, it is assembly and it refers to elm in assembly - how to find this element then if nodes and element numbers in input file refer to parts...

Can someone help?

Thanks

It's saying that you have node(s) lying on the polar axis or in other words with a radius of zero, at such a position it is impossible to determine a radial or tangential direction for the spring element.

ok but on other three similar places everything is ok so why just one corner cause problems - how to solve it as I want coord to lie on center line of spring
