how do i find the properties of ASTM A677 its silicon electrical steel. if anyone can help me out please do. i could also use the properties of a low carbon steel such as 1002 or 1006. thanks.

I've always found that it is best to start at the beginning.

ASTM A677-05 Standard Specification for Nonoriented Electrical Steel Fully Processed Types gives electrical properties (and ductility).

Allegheny Ludlum includes some mechanical property data at
MatWeb has info on both cold drawn and hot rolled AISI 1006: AISI 1002 may be more difficult to find.

standard doesnt call for mechanical properties rather electrical properties which then dictate indirectly these properties. Ive tried searching everywhere and dont need exact values just need mechanical properties of SILICON ELECTRICAL STEEL doesnt matter if its grain oriented or not.

What mechanical properties beyond those on the Allegheny Ludlum page above?

Perhaps mechanical properties are not so readily dictated by the electromagnetic ones -- ASTM A867 gives typical Rockwell hardnesses from 60 to 100 HRB, plus HRC 23. Thermal & mechanical history (annealing vs. cold work) and Si content appear to be direct factors. None of the ASTM electrical steel specs. that I looked at give mechanical properties, although some could be computed from ductility & hardness data.
