Dear all,
I have following data to select the Material for KO drum.
H2s=0%
temp= 60° C
Pressure=85.3 barg
Gas flow rate= 4090 m³/h
water fow rate= 0.6 m³/h

This is sweet service. Please suggest me in selecting material of construction.

thanks to all

The material of construction could ideally be Killed Carbon Steel, SA 516/60 or Gr70, with or without impact testing.

Thanks

While no H2S, sweet corrosion indicates CO2. What is its concentration? How much water do you have? What is the Chloride content of the water. At the temperature, pitting corrosion may be excessive at condensing locations. Internal coating may be required.

Dear Weldstan,
Co2=2% and H2o=1%. no data about chloride content. What type of coating is suitable here? I am thinking for Cladding. Otherwise. CS+6mm CA and internal coating. Please suggest me for coating.
Thank you

I'm not sure of the coatings today. At Prudhoe Bay we initially used a baked on epoxy phenolic. The key is whether liquid water is present or will be present in the future. Water content will increase with time, assuming service is downstream of producing wellhead(s).

If liquid water will not be present and is not expected to be present, uncoated carbon steel, SA-516 Gr70 is recommended.
