Material Selection Table for heat exchangers, tanks and piping 2

Is there any chart or table or references guide that lists material and grade selection for heat exchangers (shells, channel, tubes etc), tanks, piping, flanges etc based on temperature, pressure, fluid, corrosivity, weldability etc? Any help would be appreciated.

This question is too complicated to be answered with a table. There are a great deal of confounding factors and experience is extremely valuable when it comes to selecting materials.

I believe Brimstoner is referring to the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (ASME BPVC).
SECTION IX - Welding, Brazing, and Fusing Qualifications

Anybody working with related stuff would be spending their time well getting familiar with the ASME BPVC codes.

I agree with the always wise "TugboatEng" .... What you need is a seasoned process or mechanical engineer to help you select materials for your heat exchangers, piping tanks etc .... and for your specific process conditions

There are many factors to consider in materials selection for process systems... For example, there are many, many codes and standards, State and National regulation covering requirements for Materials selection. The correct materials for storage tanks in one country cannot be used in another country.

There is the issue of expected lifetime, and of course Capital Costs !!! ....The correct materials selection for one process would be a disasterous choice if a tiny bit of Chlorides were present !!!

An entire branch of engineering cannot be boiled down to a single chart readable and understandable by the new waves of STEM Engineers entering the work place !

Perhaps you could ask about a simple chart that gives you "steel beam and column" sizes for all buildings from the Structural Guys ?
